TROUBLE IN MIND takes place in a Broadway theatre in the fall of 1957. A company of artists gather to rehearse a new anti-lynching play set in the South. The play, written by a white man, raises some questions among some of the cast members. The Black leading lady, Wiletta, finds the courage and determination to challenge the interpretation of such events from the playwright and the white director. The play is a frank and bold look at the prevailing attitudes of the 1950s
and the debate about representation in the modern American theatre.
