Three Black Artists perform classical poetry from historic Black Poets and  personal “pieces” they have previously written focusing on Black Experience or what brings them joy. Filmed on location at the Paul Robeson House, Cecil B. Moore Plaza, Malcolm X Park and Mother Bethel Church in Philadelphia, these artists are joined by Dr. Vincent Williams, Associate Teaching Professor with a specialization in African American Literature from Drexel University. Dr. Vincent Williams  speaks on the importance of Black artistic expression, historic Black Poets and their legacy, and the history of Juneteenth and its cultural significance to the Black community.

This project lives in conversation with a larger, hopefully "in person" presentation that we are planning for next February, which will feature multiple Black Artists and other disciplines highlighting Black artistic expression!.

A personal note about this project: We all know this year has been particularly trying, not only dealing with the harrowing effects of COVID-19, but also the constant reminder of past and present injustices, police brutality and violence committed against black bodies and so it is important that we at PAC use our artistic platform to acknowledge our resilience against oppression and celebrate Black Joy and Excellence!
